Masks masks and more masks

Since the beginning of 2020, I’ve been making face masks. It all started with the bush fires that hit Australia badly in January. The air quality was so poor in Melbourne, that I decided to start making masks to assist with my breathing out in the open. Being a severe asthmatic, it was hard to go outside of the house without having an attack. Then the pandemic hit and I figured “why not make masks for others in all my funky and cool fabrics?” So I did. And here we are, in June, and I think I’ve made close to 200 odd masks *insert loud gasp* (It could be more, I lost count)

I’m now working on a pattern so that wire can be added to the masks, so stay tuned for those! I’ve also been experimenting with embroidering designs onto the masks, which has been a lot of fun! I’m working on a few other designs as well, so I hope you all love them as much as I do!

With conventions on pause at for the moment, I’ve been keeping very busy with masks making and trying to make some new items to add to the website. If anyone has any ideas they’d like to see me make, please drop me a line with the Contact Us form 🙂 But keep your eyes peeled on Instagram and Facebook for new items!

Lastly, I’d just like to thank everyone who has supported me through this wild year that we’re having! You are all amazing souls!

Stay Batty beautiful peeps!

Bush fire fundraiser

We’ve seen some pretty horrendous images on our screens of late, with the current bushfires around the country. The feeling of helplessness was overwhelming, so I decided to try and do something to contribute to the bush fire efforts. As a result, I’ve made these two adorable products, a koala key fob to hang off your bag or keys and a bookmark. These are $15 each, with 100% of profits going to WIRES and Wildlife Victoria.

Watsonia ComicCon

Following on from Diamond Valley Library ComicCon, the 2nd of June saw us at the Watsonia Library ComicCon! This time I had my partner in crime with me (aka my son 😂).

Another awesome turn out, with the library buzzing as the crowds flowed through.

Diamond Valley Library ComicCon

The 25th of May saw us at Diamond Valley Library ComicCon.  It was an amazing day, so many fabulous stall holders and the library was filled with locals.  Thanks to all who stopped by and said hello!

Couldn’t resist getting my picture taken with Pikachu 🖤

DandyCon

Saturday 13th April, saw us at the inaugural DandyCon, at Dandenong Library and Harmony Square. It was such a lovely day and there was a huge turn out, which was amazing. The Dandenong council put on a great event.

*My amazing son came along to be my helper and he did a killer job!*

*Christopher and I loved seeing Kristen from the Dr Who Club of Victoria*

The next event on the calendar is Animaga in August, but I’m working in the background to secure more events in the coming months.

For now… Stay batty, beautiful peeps
